In a recent study led by Professor Patrick Irwin and his team, new insights into the true color of Neptune have emerged, challenging our previous perceptions. Contrary to the widely held belief that Neptune boasts a deep azure hue, the research reveals that the planet’s true color is a paler shade of greenish-blue, closely resembling its neighboring planet, Uranus. This revelation comes as a result of reprocessing original images from NASA’s Voyager 2 spacecraft in the 1980s, alongside more recent images from the Hubble Telescope.
